Some of you have heard of the unbearable news. Nonetheless to the rest who haven’t, it’s no less painful for us to be the bearers of the sad news of a dear friend’s passing. Selma of Selma’s Table, whom we have the honor of calling a sister in spirit, passed away on Saturday July 4th, after losing her battle with cancer.
In losing Selma, we at Fiesta Friday have lost an encouraging supporter and co-host, a loyal advocate, and a true friend who was generous with her time and knowledge.
Selma touched many lives. We know you share the same sentiments about her. We understand that you, too, want to show your appreciation for all that Selma had brought to our community as a whole and to your blogging experience personally.
So amidst our collective grief, but with love and deep admiration, we would like to dedicate a special Fiesta Friday in her honor. We are celebrating Selma, her life and her talents as a writer, a cook, a photographer, and a stylist in a Special Fiesta Friday.

Thank you for letting us know about this unfortunate News. I have just spent time browsing her great blog. May the almighty rest her soul in eternal peace.
Thank you for your kind words, Liz.
Oh my God! Just came to know the news. Feel soo sad. May Selma’s soul rest in peace. I have been away from interacting with other bloggers for quite sometime now. I just opened your blog and i was shocked and really sad to see this. ๐๐
Sorry to have given you such a shock, Sadia. The news of her passing was a great shock to many of us, too. I sometimes still can’t believe it myself. She was so kind and generous. We miss her so much! XOXO
I only just found out. Very sad to hear.. it was such a busy year and i wasn’t in contact much with anyone on WordPress, looking after my mother who is also battling cancer.. I interacted with Selma a few times when i first started blogging. Sharing the same cooking heritage, i truly enjoyed our contact. So sorry to hear this. โค
It was very sad, it still is. We all miss her. Many in our group had a chance to meet her and she was even lovelier in person. I hope your mother is doing well. It would be nice if you can join us @FiestaFriday. ๐
I am sure it still easy. She cane across as lovely… Thanks Angie, yes would love to join in, just not sure how to go about it!! Mum is doing well, her medication is keeping the cancer at bay, taking it day by day and hoping it will keep on working. I started my blog after she was first diagnosed, she is an amazing cook and I realised how important it is to save her recipes.
That’s nice to hear Mum’s doing well. To join Fiesta Friday, just click on my name and it will bring you to my other blog. The current/first post is a Fiesta Friday Link Party post. If you scroll down, there’s a small blue “Add your link” button and it should be self-explanatory once you click it. I’ll be here if you need help.
Thanks, its tough with side effects but we are very lucky we still have her.. truly blesses xx
Ok will give it a go today. Thanks Angie.
