Do you know what’s so special about this week? Oh, yes, this week is very special. So special I wanna skedaddle outta here! Just kidding! I’m staying, I’m staying!
But do you know how many special events are happening this week? There’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Then Fat Tuesday on Tuesday, of course. Then Lent starts on Wednesday. And then Chinese New Year on Thursday.
Now as a food blogger, I should be enthusiastic about these events since they provide perfect opportunities to cook special foods. But not when they’re all happening in one single week! Somehow it makes me all crazy! Do you feel that way, too, or am I the only one?
Do you know what else is special about this weeK? We get Suzanne @apuginthekitchen and Sue @birgerbird as our co-hosts, that’s what! It’s always so exciting to party with them. They know so much about food and their enthusiasm about it is totally contagious. I have never NOT learned anything from reading their posts. So, if you haven’t had the chance to visit their blogs, you absolutely should! And then come back here and join us for a fiesta!

First, we look at these special posts from FF54:
Fortune Cookies from Sonal K @foodbound.
“This does need to be in the limelight. I could have never guessed making fortune cookies at home. Sonal has done an amazing job. She has not only made these cookie at home but has given the detailed step by step directions. Wow! She made them special by dipping them in chocolate just, in time for Valentine’s day!” — Sonal @simplyvegetarian777
“Sonal’s homemade fortune cookies are such a great idea – so imaginative – and they look delicious. Perfect for any occasion – but especially for Valentine’s Day. The Fiesta Friday fortune was a nice touch, too!” — Josette @thebrookcook

Japanese Chicken Curry from Julianna @Foodie On Board.
“Does that look good or what?! I love the whole idea about this dish. A Japanese curry! Just as much as I would have loved an Indian sushi if someone ever makes it. And why not? That’s what makes food exciting. Combining flavors and different cuisines for an entirely new taste. You have to be open about these things. It’s bound to happen more and more and the sooner you embrace it, the easier you get used to it. That bowl really does look and sound great to me! I’m planning to recreate it in my kitchen!” — Angie

King Cake from Anna @thelittlebluemixer.
“King Cake is too good to eat just on Mardi Gras! My whole family is obsessed with King Cake and they want to eat it year-round! Anna’s version looked AMAZING – with cinnamon sugar AND pecans in the filling – as well as the “classy” white icing. Gorgeous!” — Josette
Prawn Mousse with Mango and Soy from Petra @Food Eat Love.
“Mango and soy together? Really? Wow!! Amazing flavors at play here. I am dying to try this flavor together. The best part is when I asked Petra if I could make it vegetarian, she came up with some good suggestions like using mushrooms and tofu. I am absolutely in love with the whole idea behind this dish.” — Sonal
